Dear Susan & Henry:
With this letter
I want to express my appreciation and thanks for your and Henry's
extension of hospitality in the use of the Foundation's center near
Pagosa Junction, Colorado during our October
trip out West. I thought you would appreciate understanding how our
stay at the center fit into the larger picture of our traveling and
seeing its’ relevance to the Foundation's purpose.
Sandy and I were presenters at Sand Sea Spirit for the eighth year in Gulf Shores, Alabama. It is a weeklong alternative health, consciousness,
and subtle energy awareness conference attended by 240 people. Sandy
& I participated in the initial event and every annual conference.
There is a maturing of the energy vortex created there. We stayed
over with 25 people in some beach houses for an additional 4 days
and further refined the invoked energies.
We then left for Brazil where we participated in a weeklong meditation conference
with a service oriented meditation group called Group Avatar. I've
received their newsletter
since 1990 and have gone physically
to 5 annual conferences -- 4 with Sandy. There were 220-240 people from 15 different countries
participating in opening and strengthening the feminine aspect of
Planetary Cosmic (Christ) Consciousness -- to be followed by one in
May, 2000 doing the same but from the masculine aspect in North America, at San Diego. From an energy aspect we progressively invoked and connected with most
of the major subtle energy centers in South America. The
closing ceremony was like a crescendo to a symphony.
With this as our backwind, we returned to the United States and began what unfolded to be, in retrospect,
a three pronged journey of three steps each during which the subtle energies of the South American conference were anchored
throughout North
America. Each of the three legs went from South to North
and from lower altitudes to higher altitudes.
We landed in Pensacola, Florida stopped in route in Tennessee and returned to Columbus, Ohio for three days. We then went to Phoenix, ventured north to Sedona, Arizona and then further north to the Sunset Crater volcano
and the Wapatki Indian ruins and blowhole
at the edge of the volcanic area and next to the painted
desert. The earth was inbreathing or receiving through the blowhole at
that time -- perfect for anchoring the energies from South America.
Then to Albuquerque. New
Mexico, then to Taos,
connecting with Ed Sweeney who started 'Mindfulness Meditation of
Columbus' and is active in putting on conflict resolution workshops
in prisons. Then on to the
last stop at your center in southern Colorado. This took us
over a 10,000 ft pass where the Brazos Cliffs anchor time -- transcendent
energies through metamorphic basement rock that is the oldest on the
planet -- Precambrian in age -- and it juts up through the earths
crust at that point.
In retrospect, which for me is how a journey of this
type reveals its' structure, our journey had its' apt closure at your
center. Snuggled in the canyon up in the mountains and not far from
the healing energies of the Pagosa hot mineral springs we enjoyed
pure being on one level while on another we engaged in ritual and
meditation to anchor the energies we had been working with. Sandy
and I did several meditations together and I created a circle of stone
on top of the ridge to the right of the camp (as you look down the
drive, just north of the single dead Ponderosa Pine that stands silhouetted
against the sky on top of the ridge). This ritual and externalized
symbol served as an anchoring point for the energies we invoked, worked
with in South America, and linked and anchored at every stop during our trips.
We did this on two successive evenings at sunset. We felt in harmony
with the purpose of the Foundation. For me, I experience a special
joy when working in conjunction with any group that has a conscious
purpose or intention that includes working with subtle, creative,
universal energies.
We visited the Pagosa hot springs and connected meaningfully to locals. While Sandy and
I were getting massages, I found out my masseuse was a practicing
Buddhist and knew of the several Buddhist centers in the region. Sandy
and I had a connection. In Columbus several years prior we had participated in creating
1000 Mantra rolls out of 5,000 rolls volunteered by the Columbus Buddhist Center for a Stupa in Colorado. These are charged sacred objects. They were part of
the 100,000
total of just this one variety
of sacred object to be included in the shrine as part of their scientific
creation of its' magnetic healing energy. I had wanted to experience
the end product. Now that I know its' proximity -- perhaps on another trip.
This last vignette is just to exemplify the play of
the energy of Grace during our travels. Everything unfolded with ease.
There were many other similar events.
Again, Sandy & I want to express our gratitude for your
extension of hospitality.
Sincerely,
Stuart
Benson & Sandy Smith
